Voodoo Margarita Magic

Monday August 13, 2007
Gummi Bear MargaritaThere are still a few sweltering days of summer ahead of us and that calls for a few more parties and more than a few more Margaritas. Recently, while trying out Voodoo Tiki Tequila's line of tequilas (which includes three fruit infusions) we were doing nothing else but shaking up fantastic Margaritas, one after another. The Green Dragon (lime infused) makes the standard Margarita seem bland (although not bad in any respect) as it intensifies the lime tenfold which balances with the sour mix for a really refreshing, tropical drink. Blue Dragon (blue raspberry and kiwi infused) shines in the Hypnotiq Margarita where it is paired with Hpnotiq and blue curaçao and creates an intriguing blue Margarita filled with too many fruit flavors to count. The flavor that stood out the most had to have been Desert Rose, which is infused with prickly pear. While my favorite flavored Margarita has been the Tamarind Margarita since I first had one at Sauza's Distillery last year, the Prickly Pear Margarita has stepped into a very close second: it's sweet, it's pink, it's just plain delicious! Now, if you're looking for great novelty cocktails for your next party check out Voodoo Tiki's candy Margaritas, the Gummi Bear Margarita and the Sour Patch Margarita, they'll make you feel like a kid again. As an added party bonus, the little glass tiki gods inside each bottle make great decorations, especially for the backyard tiki party.

Finding a bottle of Voodoo Tiki Tequila is a little difficult right now unless you live in the right states as their distribution is very limited but I'm told the list should be growing soon. You can find platinum, reposado and anejo at a few online stores like internetwines.com and drinkupny.com but it is much more difficult to find the flavors online.
