The Tastes of Autumn - 5 Original Cocktails
Wednesday November 7, 2007
New cocktails fill my inbox everyday. Some are mediocre, some are simply a rendition of a classic that has been tailored to fit a particular brand of liquor and some are striking. I've been seeing a lot of those striking, unique, original cocktails lately, and it's been a true breath of fresh air. For the fall season there were literally hundreds to choose from but only five made me take notice (list below). What these cocktails have is an appreciation for the art of modern mixology; combining ingredients that are not typically thought of in pairings and featuring flavors of the season. It's the seasonal aspect that I appreciate the most because this time of year we're more likely to find fresh pumpkin, apple, cranberry and pear; flavors that are sometimes looked over or found in unnatural forms. And since fresh is always better, why not take advantage of it while it's available. I think you'll really like these. They're perfect for entertaining this season, no matter what the occasion.
