Bailey's in the Glass
Wednesday February 13, 2008
Bailey's Irish Cream is one liqueur that I have to strongly recommend keeping in the bar stock at all times. It's a spirit that is integral in many popular drinks, especially the creamier favorites and the smoother shooters (check out the list below for a few favorites). But Bailey's goes beyond a mixer, it can hold it's own. If you're looking for a quick, creamy drink that's light on the alcohol (Bailey's is only 34 proof), pour it over ice or shake it alone and strain into a cocktail glass. Coffee and latte lovers will dig a few ounces of the liqueur added to the mug. And, for those who want to be different, blend Bailey's with a little ice for an Irish cream smoothie (something I can't get into but some people really dig it: Baileys.com has the scoop on this). On the fancier side, the Chocolatini is one of my new favorites in which Bailey's is paired with vodka and Godiva. Are there other Irish cream liqueurs? Yes, Bushmills, Carolans and McGuire's are just a few of the other brands, but it is Bailey's that is the most popular and the perfect blend of Irish whiskey, cream, sugar and cocoa. Also, check out Bailey's other flavors, Mint Chocolate and Caramel, for a twist on the "ordinary".

Hi
I’m actually what you would describe as a social drinker. I don’t like to drink beer and spirits. However I do enjoy the odd Bailey’s.
Unfortunately, so my daughter. She had the bright idea of taking a small bottle of Bailey’s to school, (for medicinal purposes), and managed to get herself suspended for two days!
The joys of family life.
