A Trifecta of Carnation Cocktails

Saturday June 14, 2008
There are three cocktails, each bearing the name of a colored Carnation and each completely different from one another. These would make a great cocktail menu for any spring/summer party or reception, adding a rainbow of cocktail colors and flavors to the occasion.

The Green Carnation is a slightly fruity vodka cocktail with the elegant and alluring green color of Midori. The melon and lime flavor is balanced by the historic herbal liqueur, Benedictine. Short and neat, this is the star of the Carnation cocktails

Dessert is served in the chocolate and orange flavored Blue Carnation. This creamy and thick cocktail with a pale blue color is made with white creme de cacao and cream, with blue curacao providing the periwinkle hue.

To top off the menu and for those with a real thirst, the White Carnation is perfect. The juicy vodka highball includes peach schnapps and orange juice. The drink is then topped with soda and a splash of cream for that wonderful white aesthetic effect.
