An Olympic Party - Bring Out the Gold Cocktails

Friday August 8, 2008
The opening ceremonies for the Summer Olympics are tonight and all eyes will be on Beijing, China. It should be an excellent show and a great kick off to the next two weeks of games. One of my favorite things I look forward to each time the Olympics happen is the opportunity to gather with a few friends to watch our favorite events. It's an excellent opportunity for a party, complete with some special drinks and food.

For this party the three "medal drinks" that came out during the Winter Olympics in Torino are still great. You have the Gold Cocktail with vodka, Malibu coconut rum and a little extra coconut, the Silver Cocktail with Malibu rum and cupuacu puree, and the Bronze Cocktail with Monte Cristo rum, some Kahlua and Grand Marnier.

For the food menu, browse Rhonda Parkinson's Chinese Food site. She always has great ideas for the beginning and advanced chef. And here are a few more cocktail suggestions...
