I remember every aspect of my introduction to curry. In college, the apartment across the hall seemed to have the most unique aroma wafting through the old building's cracks and crevices, especially around dinner time, after a new tenant moved in. We couldn't figure it out because it was unlike anything we had ever smelled. Finally, after a few weeks we caught our new neighbor at the mailbox and very subtly brought up the subject (it's rude to just say "What the heck is that smell coming out of your place?"). As it turned out she was making curry dishes that were passed down through generations of her Indian family. We were invited in for a taste and since then my senses have accepted this interesting combination of spices.

So, when Stacy Slinkard, About.com Wine Guide, came up with the suggestion of Thai Yellow Chicken Curry for our next food and beverage pairing I had some ideas immediately. It is a challenge, though, possibly the biggest one we've had yet but I think you'll enjoy the beer, wine and cocktail recommendations we came up with. What would you pair with curry?
