Saturday Sipping: Gran Centenario Plata Tequila and Jim's Diablo

Saturday October 4, 2008
October's series of Saturday Sipping is going to be filled with haunting cocktails and to kick it off I wanted to share a devilish delight. Today we're pairing a fabulous tequila, Gran Centenario Plata, with a very new cocktail, Jim's Diablo.

Jim's Diablo is a purely dreamy autumn cocktail that is anything but scary. It pairs the lush palate of Gran Centenario's blanco bottling that possesses a rich, buttery palate that one might expect from an expression that has been aged a little longer than 28 days. The drink matches that profile with the ginger of Domaine de Canton, the blackcurrant of creme de cassis and a strong, fresh lemon for the perfect ending. The genius behind the libation is mixologist Jim Meehan, famous for his work at the Pegu Club and the man behind the newer hot spot, PDT.
