Republican Party Cocktails - Election Night Cocktail Party

Yesterday I featured the Democratic cocktails and today we're turning the table and showing off the Republican drinks. To finish off the last minute push and help you plan your election night party, tomorrow I'll have the non-partisan cocktails.

The Maverick
by Cocktail Guru Jonathan Pogash

Directions: Muddle the peach and lemon in the simple syrup. Then add the whiskey and ice and shake well. Strain into an ice-filled old fashioned glass. Top off with champagne and garnish with a peach slice.

Right Wing Sling
from Grey Goose Vodka

  • 1 1/2 parts GREY GOOSE® Vodka
  • 2 parts club soda
  • 2 parts cranberry juice
  • 1/2 part simple syrup
  • 1/4 part lime juice
  • lime slice for garnish

Add all ingredients to a rocks glass filled with ice. Stir gently and garnish with lime.

Maverick El Presidente
from Bacardi Rum

  • 2 parts BACARDI 8 Rum
  • 1 part Triple Sec
  • 1 part MARTINI & ROSSI Dry Vermouth
  • Top w/ Ginger-Grenadine Foam
Directions: Muddle the ginger with the Grenadine in the bottom of a mixing glass. Add crushed ice and remaining ingredients and stir for approx. 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Top w/ the Ginger-Grenadine Foam***
Garnish: long orange peel
**House made Grenadine is simply 1 part sugar dissolved in 1 part Pomegranate juice.
***Ginger-Grenadine Foam – add 1 part house-made grenadine, and 2 parts egg whites to a whipped cream dispenser, shake well, and allow to chill. Then when ready to serve, shake again very well and dispense atop the cocktail.

Red State Round-Up

  • 1 oz. Tequila
  • 1/2 oz. Grand Marnier
  • 3/4 oz. Homemade Grenadine**
  • 1/4 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 Egg White
  • Club Soda
Directions: First, shake the egg white to emulsify. Then add remaining ingredients to cocktail shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into an ice-filled highball glass. Top with sparkling water and garnish with freshly grated nutmeg and lemon wheel.
**to make home-made grenadine, simply take 1 cup of store-bought pomegranate juice, and 1 cup of superfine sugar, and shake until all the sugar is dissolved.
