Cocktails with Three Olives Vodka's Newest Flavors

Monday November 10, 2008
A few months ago Three Olives Vodka debuted three new flavored vodkas that are each quite interesting in their own way. Two, the root beer and tomato, are unheard of in the commercial vodka market and the other takes on one of the hottest new vodka flavors, espresso.

What to do with these infused vodkas? The Triple Shot Espresso is pretty easy because there are now many recipes for Espresso Martinis such as the Triple Espresso Martini and Ginspresso Martini. Three Olives' attempt at espresso vodka is great and comparable to Van Gogh's. The Root Beer Vodka has some use, although somewhat limited, but for the simple fact that it makes a stunning Root Beer Floatini is worth having the bottle around. It was the Tomato Vodka, however, that I found a real challenge. It has such a distinct flavor that you don't want to pair it with tomato exactly, but with complimentary flavors from the garden and I think my Garden Jubilee fits the bill perfectly.

With these new releases Three Olives definitely stretched a few of the limits of flavor but all are exciting and great additions to the bar. In the "vodka wars" you have to wonder what will be next.
