Let the parties begin! Okay, in reality they already have, but that's beside the point because 'tis the season of Carnival and Mardi Gras. As much as I would love to be in New Orleans (or better yet Brazil) for the party, I will be spending the days in St. Croix and saving the French Quarter for Tales of the Cocktail in July. If you are going to the party this week, have fun, be careful and do yourself a favor and stop by the Carousel Piano Bar & Lounge in the Hotel Monteleone for a Vieux Carre or The Old Absinthe House for a Sazerac. History buffs can also stop by the Museum of the American Cocktail.
