Saturday Sipping: Hennessy Cognac VSOP & The Beautiful

This Saturday I have a true sipper for everyone. It is aptly named Beautiful because it is simply that and one of my favorite, moderately priced, cognacs for this spectacular mix is Hennessy VSOP.

If you are familiar with the B&B then you will find the Beautiful a high-class delight. Where the B&B is Brandy and Benedictine the Beautiful in cognac and Grand Marnier. So what you get is a better brandy with an orange back. My choice of Hennessey VSOP is a personal preference but if the $40 cognac is a little too much for your budget their VS (around $20) is a good substitute and if you want, Gran Gala is a decent replacement for Grand Marnier. With that combination you might just call the drink "Pretty" - not quite Beautiful but certainly not ugly.
