Getting Jucier: Gnar Pomegranate Juice

I believe it is the spring season that is turning me once again into a juice fanatic. Earlier this week I went off on the wonders of I.O. Blood Orange Juice and today it is Gnar Pomegranate Juice's turn. The small amount of Gnar which I have been lucky to possess has enlightened not only my cocktail experience, but my breakfasts over the last few months. It's great straight and it's great mixed - the true tests of a bottled juice, if it can stand up to both, it's worth keeping around.

You'll hear many of us preach about the beauty of fresh juices - buy the fruit, make the juice, mix it in cocktails - that's great and while that works out okay for common and easily juiced fruits, sometimes there needs to be an alternative. In the case of pomegranates and making juice from them, the task is arduous at best and often the best bet is to find a reliable, bottled alternative. In comes the likes of Gnar, which is one of the best pomegranate juices I've found yet because it is full flavored and robust, filled with fresh pomegranate. If you have only known the juice giant's version of pomegranate juice (which they are increasingly blending with almost anything you can think of and watering down) you will find the small juice brands like Gnar an enlightening experience.

While I've tried Gnar Pomegranate in many cocktails (check out my picks in the full Gnar review), my favorite (maybe a personal bias) is the Pomspresso Tini. In this drink I've paired it with one of the new espresso vodkas for a very fun and enlivening drink.
