Brinley Gold Flavored Rums

There are rums and there are flavored rums. While this market is not as huge as the vodka infusions, it is growing and there are a few companies going after the finer side of infused rum. Yes, you can get Bacardi in almost any flavor imaginable, but it is those like Brinley Gold Rum that do a far better job with a handful of flavors. So far Brinley has 6 flavors: coconut, coffee, lime, mango and vanilla.

Overall, this portfolio is great. The freshness of a natural spirit is there, backed by a sweet gold rum, which makes it unique to most other rum infusions which use a white base. The taste is clean and clear and the flavors are well-balanced. They are all ideal for adding a more tropical flare to many of the great rum cocktails and I can see how there can be a lot of fun had with creating new cocktails. Favorites of this rum are the coffee, lime and vanilla - all three of which are fantastic on their own. I thoroughly enjoyed have the mini sampler pack, which allowed me to explore in small amounts each of Brinley Gold's potential and find out which of the 6 I wanted to take to another tasting level.
