Today the horses will be running in the third length of the Triple Crown and that means there is only one (okay maybe two) drinks to be had. Due to the occasion, the sipper of the week is none other than Dale DeGroff's Belmont Breeze, the newest official cocktail of the Belmont Stakes.

Where the official cocktail used to be the White Carnation, the Belmont Breeze is much more impressive and has an aire of sophistication. Yet, that's what we expect from DeGroff and this has my vote for the best of the three Triple Crown official cocktails. For me the ultimate Belmont Breeze is made of Woodford Reserve Bourbon and Dry Sack Medium Dry Sherry with fresh squeezed juices, of course. Enjoy the race!
