There are a number of competition deadlines coming up that I have to share. Most notably, tonight is the end of the Barenjager Bartender Competition so if you have a special cocktail with that fantastic honey liqueur, get over to their website and enter before it's too late.

- Oregon Bounty's Cuisinternship - Send in a video clip and short statement telling the judges for this Travel Oregon contest why you should get a week long internship with some of the state's top food and beverage professionals. There are internships with a chef, chocolatier, cheesemaker and fisherman, but of real interest are the winemaker, brewer and, of course the distiller. To spend a week learning the ins and outs of making Bendistillery's gin and vodka from Jim Bendis would be such a treat. Deadline is Sept. 18, 2009.
- Ultimate Cocktail for a Cure Competition - This is a great cocktail competition that supports Susan G. Komen for a Cure and the fight against breast cancer. Amateur and professional divisions are open and all cocktails must include Sence Rose Nectar and one of the sponsor spirits. Visit the website for details and entry form. Deadline is August 31, 2009.
- Benedictine 500th Anniversary: Alchemists of Our Age (Facebook Page) - If you have an amazing cocktail that shows off the herbal aspects of Benedictine you will want to send the recipe in for this contest. The winners get some coverage and recognition in Esquire. Deadline is Sept. 8, 2009.
