Labor Day is a bit of a bittersweet weekend for many. Sure, if you're lucky you get a three day weekend, but it also marks the unofficial end of summer. That means this may be the last chance for some camping, one of the last cookouts of the year and all those great trips you planned to take are now on hold for yet another year. Such is life so let's make the best of it.

I prefer to keep Labor Day weekend simple because, hey, we work hard enough throughout the year and this is supposed to be a celebration of that and a time to relax. If you happen to be the host of one of the millions of parties this weekend, keep that in mind and just go with the flow. For food you can check out the many suggestions I collected over on the Summer Fun on About.com blog earlier this week. When it comes to the drinks for your gathering I suggest getting your last taste of summer by exploring any of these great tasting cocktails before our tastes start to turn to the darker side that the coming seasons tend to bring on...
- Summer Cocktails - All of the tastes of this season which you can use to kiss summer good-bye.
- Blended Cocktails - Get out the ice and the blender because these frozen delicacies don't taste quite as good in December.
- Patriotic Cocktails - Most countries celebrate Labour Day, or International Workers Day, in May and it is unique to the United States and Canada to go with the first week of September. For patriotic Americans these cocktails are a nice way to celebrate.
