The big day is finally here and Sunday millions of Americans will be glued to TV's to watch the 49ers and Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII. To help you out with all of the party planning, here is your guide to drinks and food for game day.
Baltimore Bang and Gold Mine Cocktails
Super Bowl XLVII Cocktail Menus - A selection of drinks for both of the teams. Featured this year are the Baltimore Bang and Gold Mine, though the drink menus include other cocktails and shooters for those who are into drinking games.
Harbaugh Bloody Sunday - In my limited knowledge of the NFL, I was unaware that two brothers coach the rival teams until this drink came across my desk. That said, it is not only a drink with a catchy, themed name, it is a great cocktail (because I would not share it otherwise). The mix is one of jalapeno-infused Camarena Silver Tequila, Cointreau, blood orange and lime juices. Seriously, it's a fun drink.
Bourbon Onion Dip - Maker's Mark has come up with another great food recipe and this easy dip will beat any store-bought mix right out of the water.

About's Guide to Vegetarian Cooking says: I prefer to make my own homemade bean dip, and I recommend you avoid the sodium-laden canned stuff and make your own as well. It's quite easy, and even the most laid-back Super Bowl party host can pop open some beans and add some salsa and cheese. Here are eleven vegetarian bean dip recipes to choose from for your vegetarian or vegan Super Bowl party.
Vegetarian Super Bowl snacks should be quick and easy to prepare so that you can spend time enjoying the game, popping back beers, or screaming at the TV, depending on who's winning. And, with all those multi-million dollar commercials, who wants to pop back into the kitchen during a commercial break? Not me, that's for sure!
If you'd rather eat on the light side and pass up the wings (even the vegetarian wings and meatless mini-"meat"balls), here's a few lighter snacks that are still absolutely munch-able and a breeze to prep in advance:
- Apple and soy nut butter pita pockets
- Toasted pita chips with edamame hummus (pictured)
- Stuffed mushrooms with walnut pate
