I attempt to respond to as many emails as I can. However, sometimes it is best to post your question in a thread on the Cocktails Forum.
Cheers!

For marketing representatives:
I am happy to receive information and review certain distilled spirits, tools, books, and other materials related to cocktails and bartending. However, I do ask that you email me prior to sending any unsolicited material. It will save both of us time and energy. Thank you.
- How do I make a Martini?
You will find the traditional gin and vodka martini recipes along with similar "martinis" in this article: Martini Recipes, It's 'Tini Time
You can find recipes to most of the popular cocktails, including the Margarita, Hurricane, Manhattan here...
- I had a drink at the bar last night (or last year in Cancun), but I don't remember exactly what it is. Can you help me?
Sometimes. There are many drink recipes out there and many more that go by more than one name. Some are even specialties of the bar you were at last night. Here are some steps for finding that mysterious drink.
- Ask the bartender who made it.
- Browse my cocktail recipes here.
- Search my website (upper right of every page) for key ingredients or the drink's name.
- Do a search on the full WWW, including "cocktail recipe" in your keywords.
- If you still cannot find it, email me.
- What is Mixology?
It's more of a complicated answer than you may think. Check out this article for a definition: Mixologist or Bartender?
- How much is this old bottle of whiskey worth?
That is a very hard question to answer because the market varies and some brands are more valuable than others, while some are only good for drinking. I suggest you begin by searching for the brand and year on the internet. If you have no luck, please email me and I will do my best to help.
Other than that, if you find out the bottle you found stashed in Grandpa's house isn't worth as much as you thought, the good news is that liquor has a long shelf life. Read more here...
- Will liquor freeze?
The short answer is no, in fact vodka and other spirits are often stored in the freezer. Read more about alcohol freezing here...
- I created an original cocktail, can you add it to About.com?
I am always up for sharing the cocktail creations of everyone, no matter if you are a pro bartender with 30 years behind the stick or the average joe who doesn't know what that term means. Please email me you cocktail recipe, I'll take a look, maybe have a sip, and let you know what I think.
FYI - I do not pay for cocktail recipes that are published, but full credit is given to the creator with links to websites (if appropriate).
