B&B Cocktail

B&B stands for Brandy & Benedictine. It is one of the icons of fine drinking and is a true classic cocktail.

A B&B is often served on the rocks, although some prefer it straight up and others prefer it slightly warmer (prep your snifter with warm water, dumping it before adding the spirits). It is almost always served in a brandy snifter and it makes an ideal after dinner drink or nightcap.

The producers of Benedictine also make a pre-mixed B&B, which is really good, but if you have a favorite brandy you will find a made-from-scratch B&B a far better option.

Total Time: 3 minutes

Yield: 1 Cocktail



  1. Pour the liquors into a brandy snifter.
  2. Stir well.
  3. Add ice if you like.

You can also use the back of a bar spoon to gently float the brandy on top.

This is one of the classic drinks, with a uniquely delicious flavour. I defy anyone not to like it. It is not easily available in the shops, but you can easily make it yourself. Just ignore the advice to float it over a spoon - really the two ingredients have to be well mixed. No ice.
