The Piña Colada is a favorite frozen drink with pineapple and coconut that saw an increase in popularity after the release of Rupert Holmes' 1979 hit and now karaoke favorite, "Escape (The Piña Colada Song)." It was created in 1954 by Ramon "Monchito" Marrero Perez at the Beachcomber Bar in the Caribe Hilton of San Juan, Puerto Rico with the intent of capturing the tropics in a glass.

You may also try the shaken Piña Colada, brandy based Kappa Colada or mocktail Coco Colada.

a different way to make a frozen pina colada, Member rallierf1

now i find that it's hard to have all kinds of drinks in a mini-bar so i found a different way to make a frozen pina colada: Pour into a mixing glass: 1.5 oz Malibu rum 1 oz dark rum 3 oz pineaple juice 5-6 ice cubes shake well until ice cubes are melt and the foam is completely white. put the drink in your cocktail glass optionally garnish with a pineapple wedge or cherry Enjoy!!!! Just keep in mind, although its a relatively sweet drink it is very strong so it can be a bit sneaky on you if drank very fast.
