If you really like ginger you're really going to enjoy the East Side Press. This cocktail takes the Cognac-based and ginger-flavored Domaine de Canton and adds more Cognac (don't skimp on quality here), a little more sweetness, a bit of sour and some texture. It's a little more attention than some cocktails but is worth the extra effort and it's really nice as a dessert cocktail. The ginger garnish is a perk and I really like the candied pieces.
Ingredients:
- 1 oz Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur
- 1 1/2 oz Cognac
- 1/2 oz lemon juice
- egg white
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 5 pieces fresh ginger for garnish
- 2 pieces candied ginger for garnish
Preparation:
- Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Shake well (more than usual to properly mix the egg and sugar).
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Garnish with the pieces of ginger.
