If you really like ginger you're really going to enjoy the East Side Press. This cocktail takes the Cognac-based and ginger-flavored Domaine de Canton and adds more Cognac (don't skimp on quality here), a little more sweetness, a bit of sour and some texture. It's a little more attention than some cocktails but is worth the extra effort and it's really nice as a dessert cocktail. The ginger garnish is a perk and I really like the candied pieces.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur
  • 1 1/2 oz Cognac
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice
  • egg white
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 5 pieces fresh ginger for garnish
  • 2 pieces candied ginger for garnish

Preparation:

  1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake well (more than usual to properly mix the egg and sugar).
  3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
  4. Garnish with the pieces of ginger.
