Apple brandy and Gran Gala, an Italian orange liqueur with a brandy base, form the base for this Hot and Fruity Toddy. When I first made it I used the apple brandy produced by Cedar Ridge Distillery and if you can get it I highly recommend the combination - but of course any apple brandy will work. The fruit medley is enhanced when warmed in the toddy-style and if you're looking for that "tropical taste" in the middle of a winter storm, this is one of the most comforting drinks ever.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz apple brandy
- 1 1/2 oz Gran Gala
- 3/4 oz lime juice
- 1 tsp honey
- 2 dashes orange bitters
- hot water
- apple or orange wedge for garnish
Preparation:
- In an Irish coffee glass pour the liquor, honey and lime.
- Top with hot water and add bitters.
- Stir.
- Garnish with apple or orange wedge
