Using an equal amount of gin and dry vermouth transforms the classic Martini into a 50-50. This drink is a nice change of pace from the 4:1 or 8:1 Martini ratio and a far cry from the more modern custom of virtually no vermouth. Use the best vermouth you can get for this cocktail and add a dash of bitters for a little extra spark.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz gin
  • 2 oz dry vermouth
  • olive for garnish

Preparation:

  1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
  2. Stir well.
  3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
  4. Garnish with the olive.
