The Black Velvet is an interesting mixed drink that combines Champagne and beer. One may think this an unlikely combination but it's actually quite good and some people prefer it with more Champagne rather than the 1:1 mix in this recipe.
Supposedly the Black Velvet was created by a London steward and served while the country was in mourning over the 1861 death of Queen Victoria's husband. The drink has inspired a few companies to bottle similar mixes as was seen in the release of Krait Prestige, but these rarely last long on the market.
- 4 oz Champagne
- 4 oz chilled stout
- Pour the Champagne into a beer mug, pint glass or Champagne flute.
- Slowly pour the stout on top.
