Ebony & Ivory Cocktail

This cocktail was created by the 2008 Bartender of the Year in Sweden, Fredrik Lindfors of the Cadier Bar in Stockholm. You can also find this drink on the menu at the Grand Hotel Stockholm. The Ebony & Ivory is a great dessert drink with a nice balance of butterscotch and Licor 43, topped with a great chocolate cream. It's not one of those overly creamy drinks either, which is a nice change of pace.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz DeKuyper Butterscotch
  • 1 ox Licor 43
  • 1/5 cup Monin Chocolate Syrup
  • 4/5 cup fresh cream
  • 1 strawberry for garnish
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla sugar for garnish

Preparation:

  1. Stir the Butterscotch and Licor 43 with lots of ice.
  2. Strain into a well chilled cocktail glass.
  3. In a shaker, mix the chocolate syrup and cream for about 10 – 15 seconds, and then float the cream on top of the drink.
  4. Garnish with a strawberry on the edge and sprinkle vanilla sugar on the cream.
