Fresh squeezed grapefruit juice is best for any cocktail, especially those like this that depend on the juice for flavor. The grenadine has two functions in this mixed drink: to balance out the tartness of the grapefruit and to give it a beautiful pink hue with the progressive effect of a Tequila Sunrise.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz vodka
- 4 oz grapefruit juice
- 1 oz grenadine
Preparation:
- Pour the vodka and grapefruit juice into a mixing glass with ice.
- Stir well.
- Strain into a highball glass filled with ice.
- Add the grenadine.
- Stir again or allow the grenadine to float up from the bottom.
