This is a blended version of the original shaken Margarita. It simply takes the original recipe and tosses everything into a blender with ice, creating a refreshing lime drink that is great on hot summer days.

You may notice that there is a significant amount of sour mix in this recipe. I go with that because, besides adding a little lemon to the lime, it adds a nice amount of sweetness to counteract that tart citrus. In other margaritas with sweeter fruits, I would use less (or no) sour mix. As with any margarita, you can adjust the flavors to suit your own taste, this recipe is just a beginning.

There are many more variations with almost any flavor you can imagine.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 5 minutes

Yield: 1 Cocktail

  1. Pour the ingredients into a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. If desired, salt the rim of a chilled margarita glass.
  4. Pour contents into the glass.
  5. Garnish with the lime wedge.

If the mix is too thick once blended, add more juice: if it's too thin, add more ice.
