This is a blended version of the original shaken Margarita. It simply takes the original recipe and tosses everything into a blender with ice, creating a refreshing lime drink that is great on hot summer days.
You may notice that there is a significant amount of sour mix in this recipe. I go with that because, besides adding a little lemon to the lime, it adds a nice amount of sweetness to counteract that tart citrus. In other margaritas with sweeter fruits, I would use less (or no) sour mix. As with any margarita, you can adjust the flavors to suit your own taste, this recipe is just a beginning.
There are many more variations with almost any flavor you can imagine.

Yield: 1 Cocktail
- 1 cup of ice
- 1 1/2 ounces tequila
- 1/2 ounce triple sec
- 1/2 ounce lime juice
- 3 ounces sour mix
- Lime wedge for garnish
- Salt for rimming glass (optional)
- Pour the ingredients into a blender.
- Blend until smooth.
- If desired, salt the rim of a chilled margarita glass.
- Pour contents into the glass.
- Garnish with the lime wedge.
If the mix is too thick once blended, add more juice: if it's too thin, add more ice.
