Although any gold tequila (or any tequila for that matter) will work well in an Old Lay, Jose Cuervo Gold is typically used. The addition of orange, lime and pomegranate combine with the tequila to make it a rather tasty cocktail.
Another way to think of this cocktail is as a variation of a Margarita with grenadine.

- 1 1/4 ounces Jose Cuervo Gold Tequila
- 3/4 ounce triple sec orange liqueur
- Splash of lime juice
- Splash of grenadine
- Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Shake well.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Top with grenadine.
