If you enjoy a Perfect Martini or a Manhattan this may be another drink to add to your repertoire. A Sweet City takes your favorite gin (traditionally genever), adds sweet vermouth and apricot brandy for a much sweeter "Martini," one that is even sweeter than the Manhattan. I like this cocktail for dinner parties because it can work as both an aperitif and a digestif and compliments more "robust" meals like steak and red-sauced pastas perfectly.
Ingredients:
- 1 oz gin
- 1 oz sweet vermouth
- 1 oz apricot brandy
- orange zest for garnish
Preparation:
- Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Shake well.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Garnish with a strip of orange zest.
