Perhaps the only thing better than watching a game with friends is enjoying good food together. Certain foods seem perfect for watching sporting events, whether it is the Super Bowl, NBA Finals or World Series. While watching any of those, perhaps the thing I enjoy the most is a good platter of hot wings. Luckily, Canada's favorite whiskey, Crown Royal has developed a recipe that allows you to have your Crown Royal and eat it too with this delicious recipe for Royal Hot Wings. Try this easy recipe at home and pair it with Crown Royal for a delicious game day appetizer.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Total Time: 35 minutes

Yield: 4 portions of 4-5 wings

Ingredients:

  • 1 16 oz jar hot sauce
  • 2 tblsp horseradish
  • 16-20 chicken wings
  • 2 oz Crown Royal Canadian whisky

Preparation:

  1. Wash chicken wings and pat dry.
  2. Cut off and discard chicken wing tips; cut each wing in half at the joint. Preheat broiler at 400 degrees.
  3. Line inside of broiler pan with foil to catch drips. Arrange chicken wings on broiler pan. Broil chicken wings about 6 inches from heat for 15 minutes, turning frequently to keep them from burning.
  4. Combine hot sauce, horseradish with Crown Royal whisky. Bring to a boil.
  5.  Brush wings with sauce; turn and brush the other side.
  6. Continue broiling and basting for 10 to 15 minutes longer, removing smaller, flatter pieces earlier as needed.
  7. Serve immediately
