For most cocktails you will want to cut the orange slices in half again to form half-moon shaped slices that fit perfectly on the rim of a glass. If you are garnishing very small glasses, such as shot glasses, cut the full slice into quarters for a more appropriate size.
Tip: Make a small cut in the middle of the half-moon before placing it on the rim. This also helps prevent the juice from squirting all over when the glass penetrates the fruit.
