La Primavera is a wonderfully exotic cocktail created by mixologist Humberto Marques who has contributed recipes and articles here before (see below). This drink took top honors in my Spring 2011 cocktail contest. When I asked for cocktails that invoked the feeling of spring, Marques came through with a doozy, fitting the bill perfectly. It is an amazing drink and one that if you have only one drink this year, this one may be a good choice.

There is one ingredient that requires some explaining, the Korean aloe vera honey tea. It is not a tea, but more of a concentrate that is syrupy and is traditionally added to hot water to make a healthy tea. It is difficult to find online, but check out your local Asian food market.

Read Marques' original recipe for more tips and further commentary on the drink and contest here.
