I like the Dorflinger because it is a classic cocktail whose classic ingredients have made a comeback. The beauty of this cocktail is that Plymouth gin and absinthe are hot cocktail commodities today and they are wonderful together. Orange bitters are also seeing a renaissance of their own and are the perfect touch for bringing together the unique gin and liqueur.
This cocktail got its start in the days before Prohibition and was named after the famed glass maker. Dorflinger, of White Mills, Pennsylvania crafted fine glassware during the "brilliant period" including, rather fittingly, drink containers.
