The Floradora, or Florodora, is a classic cocktail that has been run into near-obscurity, but you'll still find it in many bartending guides. It was named after the first Broadway musical hit in the 1900's, which originated in London. In How's Your Drink?, Eric Felten tells a great story surrounding the drink.

Originally, the drink was made with raspberry syrup, but now uses framboise liqueur (raspberry-flavored) almost exclusively. There are a number of raspberry liqueurs available, with Chambord (black raspberry) being one of the most common.

Prep Time: 3 minutes

Total Time: 3 minutes

Yield: 1 Cocktail

  1. Pour the gin, lime juice, and framboise into a highball glass filled with ice.
  2. Top with ginger ale.
  3. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Totally awesome, Member hurriphoonado

Beyond. This drink is just breathtaking. Delicious, refreshing, and surprisingly does not rot the gut. The lime and the effervescence helps this beverage to be a great summer time ""deck drink"", but can be called on for any and all situations to get panda as well. Tssk, The Windy One
