The Hi Ho Cocktail is from the Hi Ho Club of Hollywood, California and was likely their signature cocktail during the 1930's. I really like this drink because it's similar to the classic Martini but the port instead of vermouth adds a nice twist. Just as the Martini can be adjusted, you can change the gin-port ratio above or below the 2:1 suggestion.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz gin
- 1 oz white port
- 4 dashes orange bitters
- lemon peel for garnish
Preparation:
- Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Shake well.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Garnish with a lemon twist.
