The London Cup is a delightful, small punch that was created by Giles Looker and features Martin Miller's Westbourne Strength Gin. The gin was created at a higher proof in order for it to remain apparent in heavily flavored drinks such as this one. There is a lot going on here and it makes a great summertime punch. The recipe is meant to serve a party of two and is best mixed in a tall, thin glass pitcher. You will probably get two glasses for each person and I also recommend experimenting with the fruit you place in the punch - go with whatever is in season at the time.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Martin Miller's Gin Westbourne Strength
- 2 oz Martini Rosso
- 1 oz Campari
- 2 oz fresh grapefruit juice
- lemonade to fill
- cucumber, orange and grapefruit slices for garnish
- mint sprig for garnish
Preparation:
- Pour the gin, vermouth, Campari and grapefruit juice into a small glass pitcher filled with ice cubes.
- Top with lemonade.
- Stir well.
- Add slices of fruit and a sprig of mint.
- Serve by pouring into 2 old-fashioned glasses.
