Cocktail Glass

Glass Guide- Cocktail Glass

The Twentieth Century cocktail is a gem in the list of classic drinks. The mix of gin and chocolate are amazing together and as Gary Regan points out in Joy of Mixology, the lemon "acts as a foil to the sweet liqueur." It seems that the genius behind the Twentieth Century was C.A. Truck, according to William J Tarling's 1937 Cafe Royal Cocktail Book - a compilation of drinks from the bars of London.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz gin
  • 1/2 oz white creme de cacao
  • 1/2 oz Lillet Blanc
  • 1/4 oz fresh lemon juice

  1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
