The Union Square is one of the new cocktails from New Amsterdam Gin that celebrate the spirit's name by honoring some landmarks and burroughs of modern day New York City. This one in particular is one of my favorites of the lot because it pairs fresh strawberries with basil and agave nectar for a very fresh, lively taste. Yet, one of the best aspects is that New Amsterdam is one of the best budget gins available, so you get fresh and quality cheap.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz New Amsterdam Gin
- 2 strawberries
- sprig of basil
- 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
- 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
- 1 oz agave nectar
- 1/2 strawberry for garnish
Preparation:
- Muddle strawberries with the basil until fully mashed in a cocktail shaker.
- Add all other ingredients.
- Add ice and shake vigorously.
- Strain into a martini glass.
- Garnish with half a strawberry.
