Traveling to Maker's Mark is not for the faint of heart, an hour and a half out of Louisville, up and down hills, around curves to the left then the right, one could easily get lost. The trip is worth every mile as you turn that last corner and are greeted by the dark, gigantic rick houses that overlook the valley, and it's with this sight you know you've successfully navigated the knobs and found Maker's Mark distillery. It's inviting, homey and emits a sense of peace and security. Charcoal brown buildings, each adorned by red shutters with the distinct shape of Maker's Mark bottles cut into the panels, scatter the valley with purpose and prestige.
