Butterscotch Liqueur

Definition: A liqueur made from a mix of butter and brown sugar using a neutral base spirit. The result is a liqueur that tastes like butterscotch candy. It obtains a rich gold color from the addition of either natural or artificial coloring agents. The most common butterscotch liqueur available is DeKuyper Buttershots and the term "buttershots" is often used to describe all butterscotch-flavored schnapps.
