What is Irish Cream?:
Irish cream is a popular liqueur that is often served on its own over ice, mixed in cocktails, or in shooters. It is made of Irish whiskey, cream, chocolate, and sugar and can also include other flavoring ingredients such as coffee and vanilla.
There are many brands of Irish cream available (see list below). Bailey's Irish Cream is the most popular and was the first Irish cream available. Make Your Own Irish Cream:
- 3/4 cup Irish whiskey
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 4 eggs
- 2 Tbsp chocolate syrup
- 2 tsp instant coffee
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp almond extract
Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend on high for 20-30 seconds, or until smooth. Pour into a bottle using a funnel and seal tightly. Place in the refrigerator to chill for at least 1 day before using.
