Sherbert Punch

From Barbara Williams, for About.com

This Sherbert Punch is one of my favorites of all time that my mother would make for parties. Sometimes it is called a Wedding Punch as well, because it has an elegant green hue and a taste that is a definite non-alcoholic crowd pleaser. My favorite aspect of this is that it brings together lime sherbert and the ginger ale makes the punch bubble for a nice effect. If you like, add green food coloring to enhance the color and be sure to have ice on hand for refills (blocks work great, but ice rings are a nice touch).

Serves 50

Ingredients:

  • 1 quart lime sherbert
  • 2- 6 oz cans frozen lime juice concentrate
  • 2- 6 oz cans frozen lemon juice concentrate
  • 6 juice can of water
  • 4 quarts ginger ale, chilled
  • green food coloring (optional)

Preparation:

  1. Soften sherbet in fruit juices and water.
  2. Add ginger ale just before serving.
  3. Pour over large block of ice in punch bowl.
  4. Punch will bubble during early part of serving.
