I always enjoy mixing drinks, it doesn't matter what it is or if it contains any alcohol, mixed drinks are just better. This drink is a great example of a mocktail that adds depth to ordinary fruit juice and has become the only way I drink my morning orange juice.

The Virgin Sunrise (or Sweet Sunrise) is simple and rather logical once you think about it, but so are some of our favorite spiked drinks (think of the Gin & Tonic or the Highball). This one definitely deserves fresh squeezed orange juice and is perfect for a grapefruit or fruit salad brunch. The most popular Sunrise of all has to be the Tequila Sunrise.

Prep Time: 3 minutes

Total Time: 3 minutes

Yield: 1 Drink

  1. Fill a highball glass with ice and orange juice.
  2. Slowly pour grenadine over the juice, it will sink to the bottom and slowly rise to the top as you drink.
  3. Garnish with an orange slice.

I am prego and looking for a delicious mocktail using ingredients I already had on hand. I found the virgin Sunrise and it was good.
