Unfortunately all of us cannot always travel to watch the Olympic Games in person, but we can still have fun and enjoy the Olympic spirit right here at home. The television coverage of the Olympics has grown over the years and typically broadcast around 400 hours on the various networks so everyone should be able to find their favorite sport.
Check your local TV listings for the event you can't miss and invite friends over for a great time watching the world's best athletes. Here are some entertaining ideas for your Olympic party...
Food:
Go ethnic with the food. As the Olympic Games travel around, it's fun to explore the foods of the country they're held at. The great group of Guides on About.com's Food Network cover food from all over the world so you're sure to find some appropriate fair. You may want to serve something small as most of the events are only covered for a few hours.
Drinks:
Also, you may want to choose drinks that represent the host country in some way because they were made to pair perfectly with that great regional food you'll be making. Choose Ouzo for the Greek hosted games, Italy's fine wines produced near Torino, Canadian whisky when Canada is the host, and a great London dry gin would be appropriate for the London games.
