Traditionally, this cocktail is made with blended Scotch, personally Glenlivet 15 year single malt is my Scotch of choice. Experiment with different types of Scotch and add just enough Drambuie (a Scotch-based liqueur) to flavor the scotch without destroying its distinct personality.
