I love to pick a mixologist's brain and this Fresh Squeeze cocktail was the result of asking Master Mixologist Bobby "G" Gleason to make a special drink one night at dinner. He walked up to the bar, spouted off a recipe to the bartender and returned with this delightful aperitif. In this cocktail the Campari, which some can find too bitter, is tamed by the sweetness of two rums, including one flavored with guava. Do yourself a favor and prepare your own sour mix as it produces a far superior cocktail, and if a lemon isn't available a lime squeeze is sufficient.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz Cruzan Light Rum
- 1 oz Cruzan Guava Rum
- 1/2 oz Campari
- 1/2 oz fresh sour mix
- lemon wedge
Preparation:
- Pour the rums, Campari and sour mix into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Shake well.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Squeeze the juice of a lemon wedge into the drink and drop it in.
