Everyone has a recipe for Hot Apple Cider, the Hot Gold Apple Cider is my version. I like this one because it takes the average spiked version of the drink and adds a little sparkle along with cinnamon by adding Goldschlager and its tiny gold flakes. I often leave this warming on the stove, in a crockpot or insulated punch bowl for hours. It fills the house with a lovely aroma and allows guests to ladle drinks as they please.

Because of the gold touch I also don't strain the spices like many recipes call for, this also allows the spices and orange slices do their infusion magic longer. If you want to keep your spices separate, one reader suggested to put them into a tea ball. Fantastic idea!

Perfect for Tailgating, Member seancassidy

This was super easy to make and share with others at our tailgate before the Apple Cup (UW vs WSU). Tasted great and it has been a return recipe for those cold weather events, plus the extras go well in a thermos for later after the game.
