If you take all of the rum and juices into account, the Jet Pilot is the epitome of a tiki drink. Then, there are the interesting flavor accents - cinnamon, bitters, anise - that make this cocktail intriguing to the taste buds and an extraordinary frozen drink.
The combination of rums is key to making the Jet Pilot and you can find some nice selections at The Pegu Blog. There is also options available for the anise liqueur. While many people choose to go with Pernod or Herbsaint, the new array of absinthes available are a good choice for the more adventurous. Whichever you go with remember to keep the anise in check.
