Maca Martini Cocktail - Sagatiba Pura Cachaca Rum
This Maça Martini is fabulous, fresh and addicting. The name "maça" (pronounced mah-SAH) is Portuguese for apple and is significant because of the cider and the spectacular apple garnish. If you enjoy Apple Martinis but are looking for something a little more elegant and fresh, this recipe from Sagatiba Pura Cachaca is a great choice. The elderflower cordial may be difficult to find, but both Belvoir and St. Germain are excellent brands.

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Sagatiba Pura Cachaca
  • 1/2 oz elderflower cordial
  • 1/2 oz fresh pressed lime juice
  • 2 1/2 oz apple cider
  • apple disc (slice) for garnish
  • mint sprig for garnish

Preparation:

  1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
  4. Float an apple disc with a mint sprig in the center on top of the martini.

Refreshing and tasty. Will make this again., Member Wildago

So many cocktails are too sweet for me but this has only a mild sweetness and is so refreshing. I served this at a dinner party recently and everyone liked it. A cautionary note: Apple cider is carbonated where I live (UK). Add the cider AFTER shaking or gases will blow off the shaker lid and make a great mess. (I know this firsthand!) Definitely worth making though.
