The story behind the name of this cocktail seems to be a mystery to today's cocktail world, but it is known that it was created back in the "golden age of the cocktail" when many of our favorite classic cocktails saw the light of day. I'd like to think that some young bartender back in the day created this beauty for a lean, tall, blonde woman with a French accent who graced his bar nightly - but that's just my take on it.
The cocktail is a delight and is in the fashion of the Brandy Alexander, with rum and curacao replacing the brandy and cacao. It brings a touch of the tropics to a splendid dessert cocktail.
